How to Check Ahrefs Domain Rating in Bulk

When you have a list of potential outreach sites, opening each one in a separate checker slows the first pass. Our Ahrefs Domain Rating Scraper checks a list of domains or page URLs and returns Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR), backlink count, referring-domain count, and the dofollow share of both. You can export one row per checked domain or page and review the promising sites yourself. No Ahrefs account is needed.

DR is a 0–100 measure of backlink-profile strength. It is useful for sorting a list, but it does not tell you whether a site is relevant, trustworthy, or a good place to earn a link.

Check a small prospect list

Open the Actor on Apify. An Actor is a tool you run on Apify. Add your sites under Domains or URLs, one per line, and set Max results to match the number you want to check. For a first test, switch the Input form to JSON and use this three-domain sample:

Review the sites, not just the score

Sort your export by DR or referring domains to choose which sites to open first. Then check whether the site's topic and audience match yours, whether its recent pages are maintained, and whether there is a sensible reason to contact it. A large backlink count can include many links from the same site, so read it beside referringDomains rather than on its own.

For whole-site comparisons, enter bare domains such as apify.com. A full URL such as https://apify.com/store checks that exact page instead. Do not mix page-level and domain-level rows in one DR ranking. The Actor normalizes duplicates such as www.apify.com and https://apify.com/, so they are checked once. A site Ahrefs knows little about can return DR 0; review it manually before discarding it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an Ahrefs account?

No. Our Actor uses data Ahrefs shows in its public tools, so you can run it through Apify without an Ahrefs subscription.

Is a domain the same as a page URL in this input?

No. A bare domain checks the site including its subdomains. A full page URL checks that exact page. Keep the two scopes separate when comparing results.

Does a Domain Rating of zero mean a site is bad?

No. Ahrefs may have little or no backlink data for a site. Treat zero as a reason to inspect the site, not an automatic rejection.
